Tony Kornheiser: "Kevin Durant will get the last laugh, he will end up being a champion and final MVP and Westbrook will probably never get anywhere near an NBA Final again"

He completely bailed on him, maybe he'll get the last laugh in this "fight" but he knows what he did to Westbrook. You can't hate someone because they wanted to compete, if Durant wants to join a superteam so be it. He has the right. But at the end of the day Kevin and Russ both know what he did. He jumped ship without even telling him. He called this man a brother and then left him like he barely knew him. He left the entire city like he didn't even give a shit. Ok maybe he didn't owe us anything, but he owed Russ the decency to tell him his decision in person. People like to revise history saying that our team "wasn't really that good" but with the Kd/Russ core we got ONE healthy run. And it just happened to be the year the 73-9 warriors + 67-15 spurs existed. I get KDs decisions 100% percent but people should see why a lot of people view it as weak. This isn't a Lebron leaving Cleveland thing where the team lost 30+ wins, we were still fairly competitive this year. I fully believe that if we don't get injured in those three straight seasons from 2012-2015 that we would have atleast one title by now, which makes Kds decision even more frustrating. Just knowing how close we were. I'm sure Russ felt like shit too, he's been called a ball-hog for his entire career. He literally shifted his play-style to suit KD better, that was how much he wanted him to stay. I just wish things would of ended better man.
