Too late to turn B4 job around?

  1. No one cares if you made a C or two in school. Your manager has way more to worry about than that, and it's especially not a reason she wouldn't acknowledge you.

  2. Some teams love the hierarchy: associates talk to seniors, seniors talk to managers, managers talk to partners. I've discovered that some teams think this hierarchy is stupid and talk to everyone; however, others are pretty strict with it. She may have not acknowledged you because she is either busy or likes the hierarchy or both.

  3. It's not about whether your team starts early or if your computer crashes 18 times before noon. It's about NOT making excuses or complaining about it. Leave your house earlier, send IT a message, etc. without complaining. A positive attitude is about staying positive during the little stuff like this. I can't comment on your attitude other than to say this is a great time in your life/career to learn how to accommodate with your coworkers and resources. Soft skills are just as important to work on right now as the technical ones. I'm still learning these skills every day. You aren't doomed, but your willingness to hear what others tell you and to continue improving will direct you no matter where you work or what you do.
