Too many people from Michigan

the trickiest part about this, especially buying out of state, is that some of these houses need a lot of work. Im talkin you buy it for 5k, get out there, and its pretty much boarded up sinking into the ground, needs new everything. so by the time you get it repaired and up to code and livable standards, you're in it a lot more than the 5 or 10k you bought it for.

this is fine though for some. If i got 2 buddies of mine to go in on a 5k house and rebuild it ourselves and flip it in a few years, it would be fun for us (construction backgrounds). If i wanted to move a family out there and get established, i'd probably up my search for 75-100k, and *that * gets you a lot of good stuff too.

Detroit and michigan are definitely on the come up. Its a city experiencing a definite renaissance. I thought about heading out there a few times.
