Top Gear SAAB 9-5 Aero. There's a reason why.

Current top post is a race between an amped up 95 and a 335i. The top range power was mentioned and it was pretty relevant to my day off today.

Check out ~8min about the "mid range clout".

I have a 14 year old (@ about 202k) Saab 93. It's been in the shop for the past month, various faults, engine is still good but it needs more servicing. I don't have the money or time to keep it in the shop lately since it's my daily driver and I still need to work for a living. My gf moved 100 miles away, we get 1 day a week to see each other and it's selfish for her to always come to me, so I ask my Saab politely to get me home every time when I go to visit her. But I digress.

On my way home today from my gfs I was about 30 miles in and this plastic piece came off when I was doing "70"mph (legal speed limit). I had to pull over and pound it back into place with my hand on the hard shoulder while other cars blasted past at "70"mph.

Prior to that I spend about 20 miles cruising with an SUV, swapping lanes at around "70"mph. I go ahead of him, barely, and then had to pull over and lose my traction/progress. Pounded that shit in and had to merge back into traffic, humbling myself to all the drivers I had originally passed.

I popped it into sport and caught back up to traffic instantly. It was amazing to me such an old car could still blow past everything else on the road. I got back up to "70"mph in no time and eventually caught up with my SUV driving friend, unfortunately he got off the highway after 2 more exits.

Epilogue: This car scares the shit out of me right now, I don't have the funds to get home if it breaks down and I'm far away, but god damn it still puts a smile on my face.
