I'm sorry, but in every possible way, the US of today is LESS racist than it used to be.

That does not mean racism is gone. Obviously not. But the idea that there hasn't been progress is idiotic.

And I wasn't even mentioning polarization in the context of racism. It's just a thing in general at the moment, people do not want to listen anymore. They don't have to. Their arguments, like yours, have become impervious to dissent as a result. Because you're not listening.

I said it's idiotic to label 50% of the population as racist based on the fact that they're republican. It's just, if you think every self-pronounced republican MUST be a racist person by classical defintion, you're almost certifiably wrong.

And I agree the republican party is intolerable. There wasn't one republican candidate I could stand behind, and a number of them were worse than Trump. But people do not just subscribe to republicanism because they identify with contemporary leaders, but because they believe in underlying ideals. These ideals may by now have become thoroughly corrupted and corroded, but a good number of republicans honestly believes in them. And these are by definition the people you could convince and sway, because you can't sway the people that know about and don't care about the corruption.

There's honest republicans that could become honest democrats. But it's never going to happen if you start out by calling all of them racist. What the fuck do you think your'e going to do, start a civil war and kill 50% of the populace? If you don't want to listen, you're not going to get fucking anywhere. And if you listen, you can still be loud when necessary.
