I was in the navy for eight years and I initially joined for the opportunity to go to college. I was on the dole before I enlisted.

Had a friend OD on me, that was rough. Seeing my life go down the shitter, I kicked an addiction and signed up. If I hadn’t enlisted, I would’ve been homeless.

But that’s how backwards some people in this country think. A person shouldn’t have to enlist and risk life and limb for a fucking education. And most of people that share this kinda shit aren’t the people that need to enlist in order to get job experience or an education.

The kind of people that think this way completely lack perspective.
