Why is top player privilege so acceptable in the Smash community?

now I say this with as little malice to M2K as possible.

when i went to CEO, I met him on 2 occasions.

once, the day before it officially started, me and some guys were playing SF in a lobby (this included a black guy who was apparently famous in smash? he's from new york, i know that. and a white guy who... thought he was? he kept saying his name to people and they kept looking confused.) M2K walked over, and stood directly above someone sitting in a nearby chair for about three minutes. for the SFV players around, this was awkward as fuck. eventually, someone comes over and asks this person (who, as far as I know was involved in CEO but could just have easily been a hotel guest. ) to move. the guy is pretty creeped out, so he goes, and M2K curls up in the chair, and spends the next several hours ignoring anyone who talks to him.

During my smash4 doubles pools, there was a large man in a yellow kilt screaming at players to keep the crowded pathways clear. M2K walks to the center of the pathway, sits down, and starts playing on his phone. No one said anything. not the staff, not the players, no one.

this isn't about the players, not really. it's about the enablers. no one says a damn thing. I don't blame players for taking what they can get. I'd ask for a VIP room too if they would give it to me. I'd take relaxing naps in the middle of the fucking pathway. this falls squarely on the TO's, the staff, and the fans.
