Top U.S. intelligence official: Russia meddled in 2016 election through hacking and spreading of propaganda

NSA employee here, I sit one room away from Russian Cyber issues. Fuck the Hatch Act, this goes beyond partisan politics.

Even the lifelong Republicans are furious. These are people that have spied on either USSR or Russia most of their adult life. We know how Assange got the documents (from a Russian proxy, and we're pretty sure Assange knows, too), we know about the hundred other things they have done besides the DNC leak, and we're really praying that Clapper doesnt play safe when he suggests the declassified report next week will ride as close as possible to the full evidence without exposing human+technical accesses on Russia . Not that we expect the public to care for our feels esp considering our history, but the one time we make a 100% on the dot call people are seriously siding with that bleach-haired cringelord and it's a shot to morale. Granted, I realize alot of it is healthy skepticism and not necessarily Trump worship, but yeah, morale is in the fucking dumps.

However, the Senate hearing today was a morale boost--it signals to us that we will be protected against whatever Trump is scheming with 'restructuring' the IC.
