Toronto drivers are loud, cyclists and pedestrians should be too: Matt Elliott

But there’s little doubt the mayor is sympathetic to the angry drivers of the city, and has done plenty to placate those who mostly get around by car.

Surface transit riders are being placated as well, as are all of the people who depend on a timely delivery of goods and services, from emergency services to Taxi/UBER transportation to food delivery to construction material delivery to a contractor being able to make it to 3 jobs instead of two and raising the prices across the board.

Also motor-vehicle drivers /employees of commercial drivers or mobile employees are paying taxes on every litre of gasoline they use sitting in traffic, some get it back come tax time others don't.

Fears of subjecting those behind the wheel to a two- or three-minute delay prompted Tory to support spending more than a billion dollars to maintain the eastern part of the Gardiner Expressway, despite perfectly logical plans to remove and replace it.

Nothing logical about removing a bypass and putting those vehicles on surface routes while wanting cycling/pedestrian infrastructure of world class cities with multiple such bypasses.
