TPP would allow milk from cows receiving hormones into Canada

Yes, fucking with hormones fucks an animal's physical health in innumerable ways. That is why Canada doesn't want milk from the US, because it is not a particularly humane thing to do, and they even say there is zero evidence that milk from those cows is unsafe. This is a still a legitimate complaint. But jeopardizing an animal's health for an increased profit margin is something corporations here are all about.

As to the actual milk, the public being scared of what is in the milk has been a big joke for scientists in agricultural sciences for at least 15 years that I know of. It is like the US public being afraid of irradiated foods. It is a concern raised by people who have a slight idea what the hormone is, but not how it functions, or have any idea that it is in all milk at the same levels from cows treated or not with this hormone. Don't get me wrong, there has been continuing exhaustive research done by the FDA. And guess what? Fucking nothing bad or even particularly different has been found over all these years (and so many researchers would have been elated to find a problem). And the followup research on that? Nothing. Research on the subject has basically moved on because it is like discussing whether vaccines cause autism. And whatdaha know, no environmental impact. I recently talked with a friend who has been in the field for 25 years and spend 5 years working with the FDA on this specific 500 page document about the effect of a D-isomer of the hormone. As you probably didn't know, humans can't use D-isomers, only L-isomers. So I asked, "what's the point?" because if it isn't clear at this point I am a callous bastard. "Well it is about the local plants" "Did you find anything?" "Well I discredited around 100 scientists for citing shit they hadn't read, but no"
