Trae Young's first 30 games this season: 15.5/2.7/7.1 on .380/.250/.789 shooting. Trae Young's second 30 games this season: 18.9/3.9/8.2 on .433/.379/.820 shooting.

It's arguable, yes. Obviously comparing eras is always a fool's errand, but at least these eras are pretty close to each other. Nash's career TS without LA in the picture is pretty close to Curry's career TS. Nash also had different rules/more physicality in the games. Nash was much more of a "pure" pg than Steph, but it's a lot of recency bias to ignore what an amazing shooter Nash was - especially before the development of the 3 ball we see in the league today.

If he said he models his game after Stockton, that would be one thing. But self-comparing his game from a top 5 shooter ever to another is ridiculous when his numbers don't back it up. Whoever of the two greats he models his game after still means that he is 100% not living up to those expectations and is a bad shooter in comparison.
