Is Tralee a good Erasmus choice?

Hi szyy! I'm from Tralee so I can answer a lot of your questions.

Like you said Kerry is a lovely place with lots of scenic attractions. Tralee is near enough to places like Dingle and Killarney which would be big tourist towns. As for housing in Tralee, even though we dont do student dorms we have set student accomodations which would be apartments that you would share with 4 or 5 other students with security on site etc. The student accomodations in tralee are http://www.anseanmhuileann.com/ and http://www.kingscourtapartments.com/. Both of these places are nice places to live and you will be with other ITT students. Sean Mhuilleann would be in the town and Kings Court would be a 10 minutes walk. Im not quite sure of the prices but they would be around 500-600 a month and that would include electricity and rubbish disposal etc. If you look at the websites they should say the prices. If you didnt want to live in these type of accommodations, there are houses with similar rent prices and you could house share with other students. Do you know which campus you would be in? There are 2 campuses which are about 15/20minutes walk apart from each other so travelling to the college would be the only problem but as far as I know there is a bus service running from the student accommodations to both campuses. I can ask some friends about this for you. Tralee as a town is ok. It has plenty of pubs that students frequent and has a nightclub as well. Although the student nightlife wouldn't be as big as other major college towns, it is still good. You mentioned about feeling trapped in the town. This isn't the case because there is a bus station and a train station (both offer student rates) and places like Killarney, Cork City and Limerick City are all no more than an hour and a half away. Tralee also has a cinema, bowling alley, indoor go-karting. There is also a sport complex with a swimming pool, gym and sport pitches which has a special offers for the college students. http://traleesportscomplex.ie/ Even if you don't pick to come to Tralee, the best advice I have for you is to join some clubs and societies in the college which is a great way to meet people with similar interests as you. If you have any other questions for me I will happily answer them.
