Ok you are a regular user here who’s username I actually recognize, I appreciate your thoughts but I wonder if you realize how badly the Reddit system is stacked against quality content.

I’d mostly just like you to school me on some grime, but I also am curious what other ten year old music subs with consistently good quality music you subscribe to? I don’t want to just throw out salt and hot takes here but I know Reddit has a temporary attention span, it’s built into the system. So it’s basically now or never. Do you know how this subreddit got to where it is? I made it this way. I put a lot of effort over the years into consistently ensuring high quality content here over the years. We may have been thru this before with all the petty drama here but I almost gave up on Reddit recently, the quality of the site overall has seriously tanked over the past couple of years.

Regarding the prospects of this sub, the ideal that you’re upholding was dying a rapid death in my view. There were a small handful of users posting obscure old funk and whatnot and no one really commenting or even voting on it that much at all. I know a couple of Twitter accounts and FB groups that can provide that level of content if it’s what you’re after. For this subreddit to thrive, it needs to grow. And that’s not really going to happen just by maintain the same old course. I’ll tell you the same thing I tell everyone I respect when this comes up now: if you want to start your own subreddit, I’ll be glad to do what I can to help get it off the ground.
