Transfer Muppets Thread (Part 6)

To give balance to the hype, some thoughts on why MDL wouldn't be such a great signing.

  • MDL would be a short-term fix, just like Toby would be. One due to age, and the other due to his obvious desire to eventually play at Barca.
  • Giving into Raiola's demands for MDL's wages will fuck us in the upcoming transfer windows. We're about to lose DDG and possibly Pogba, in large parts because we won't pay them the same wages we're paying Sanchez. Imagine the leverage our current players and potential signings will have in negotiations if they could use MDL's wages as a basis of comparison.
  • MDL is a 19 year old defender. Understandably, he has the potential to be the best CB in the world. He's, however, at best, a defender. We won't automatically challenge for the title because we've signed a CB. City outscored us by 30 goals this season. We've got too many holes to plug to splurge our budget on one player.
