I think everyone agrees the main reason we did poorly last season was cause of our midfield. I think it comes down to two things that need to be fixed.

1) Our midfield just wasn't good enough. Now I personally think this was due to poor coaching, and players weren't as aware of the roles as they should be and we had a lack of system. I don't believe we desperately need some to sign a world class midfielder because I do think we have talent in our current midfield. However, their are definitely players out their that would immediately improve our midfield and should be considered as part of a plan of rejuvenating our system. My point here is that a new player, even if it is an amazing player, will only help if we re-implement a proper midfield system.

2) Real Madrid has so much more QUALITY depth. For this reason, I do think another midfield signing would help. Having more depth allows for more rotation, and will ensure we can finish the season as strong as we start it.

So overall, I don't know enough about Eriksen to say if he is the best option, but from what I've seen he would definitely be able to succeed as a part of plan of fixing our overall midfield issue.
