We want to travel somewhere warm and affordable for a week in December. Where can we go?

I would say Seychelles but that's too far away for you. The most beautiful beaches I've seen are in Los Roques Venezuela. You can't go to Venezuela cause it's dangerous... But los Roques Is not connected to Venezuela so it is safe there and reachable from nearby countries by sea. Of course, you're not going to do that... The point is... Around that area there are beautiful beaches. Curazao is a small island with resorts who do everything for you if you're not that adventurous. Aruba is another option. You can also go to Mexico but avoiding the cities where the narcos work at. If it is not beaches you want... You can go to Peru (best food ever), chile, argentina, colombia, Brazil...
