Travelling to Morocco during NYE and with family

I’ve spent a lot of time in Marrakech and don’t remember ever being cat called. I have a worse time in Italy with that!

The Medina can get a little hectic, but I absolutely love it and have always felt really safe as a woman And if you’re of south asian decent, your family will likely have a more relaxed time than white europeans. My partner looks very south asian (isn’t at all though), and strolling through the markets has always been a very calm experience for us because of that. Locals have repeatedly told us we’re left alone specifically because of that.

Also, you don’t need to cover. Where you’re going, Morocco is pretty liberal. And unless it’s changed in the past 2-3 years, there is only one mosque in the entire country that non-Muslims can enter (in Rabat), so there really isn’t any reason to ever cover anywhere.
