Travelling Syria as an 18 year old Australian. Not once did i feel unsafe and everywhere I go people would ask where I'm from and for a photo, offering coffee and welcoming me to the country

It depends on who's going to be entering the country, chief. As an activist and a protestor, I will most certainly get killed if I try to get back home. And I'm not the only one, considering there are hundreds of thousands of people, if not millions, who are literally living in tents in the worst conditions and still refuse to go home because they know what awaits them there.

You would've felt safe in Nazi Germany. You would feel safe if you visit North Korea right now, but that wouldn't make the idea of visiting any less crazier, and most certainly wouldn't change the fact that you'd be supporting a regime that starved and killed many. That's what you've done here. I hope you're proud of your visit.
