Travelling in Tanzania

I'm really sorry if this post is annoying you this much, it was not my purpose to offend anyone.

Yes, I am well aware of the problem regarding voluntourism. I know that the goal of volunteering shouldn't be focused in replacing local workers with already more than the required qualifications to do the same job that I would be doing. That's why I tried to stay away from this kind of activities that, in my opinion, could be doing more harm than good. And no, I'm not an heart surgeon neither, unfortunately. However I can hardly find how me helping local farms and families taking care of their animals could be harming the community. This is the main reason I picked this activity. I won't really be replacing anyone, I'll just be lending an extra hand to local families who might need and who will in exchange offer me housing and a bit of their hospitality.

Yes, I'm also aware that there a lot of organizations exploiting the good will of people to scam them some money while promising the idea of helping the local communities. I'm also aware of the dangers of doing this sort of experiences without any safety net. This is why I looked for one that would bring me as much in direct contact with the local people as possible, while minimizing their part in these interaction. One which would simply help me during the first contact with the country and that could provide me assistance in case of any situation. Hence, I will be living with local families and not in any luxurious resorts. This being said, I hardly feel that the less than 400$ I'll be spending with the organization for the medical/safety assistance that they will provide over the six weeks I'll be there could in any way fund a backpacking trip of the same length around the country.

Again, as it doesn't hurt repeating, it was never my goal to provoke such discontent with my post. I'm honestly just trying to make the most of this two month gap I have with the budget that I have. If you could help me, I'd be very thankful.

Now, if we could come back to the purpose of my post and since you keep insisting that I should do a proper trip around the country, do you have any recommendations of places and activities that I could do over the 1/2 weeks I will have to travel? I promise that once I save the enough money and if I should ever again have the opportunity to take two whole months off of my work, I'll do a proper backpacking vacation in Tanzania.
