Tree of Life, Kalaloch Beach, WA [OC] [6000x4000]

Boy this comment got me down a really frustrating rabbit hole. When I think fracking I don't typically think of Washington so I decided to see how big the industry is there. First off yes, there's way more fracking there than I knew. Secondly, this beach is just 10 miles south of Oil City, Washington so fracking makes even more sense. This obviously meant I had to see how many places are named Oil City in the US and HOLY FUCK it's depressing. There's an oil city in California, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, Mississippi, Texas, Washington, Wisconsin, and Oklahoma and Pennsylvania have 2 cities named Oil City. People in this country need to aspire to more than digging bullshit out of the ground. We're far past the point where oil needs to be a part of our national identity but rather than move on these greedy fucks in the fossil fuel industry stiffle any energy progress so they keep inflating their bank accounts regardless of the damage it does to our planet and species. There's a special place in hell for that level of avarice.
