A trend I noticed during the last two AMA's that sickens me.

I am not speaking for the mod team here. I am speaking for myself, out of the frustration I feel as both a community member and as one of the mods who spends far more time here than I spend doing almost anything else other than working at the job I get paid to do. And I do it for nothing but the love of this sub.

I consider us caretakers of this sub. We are here to make this community a better place for you, and that includes making it a safe and welcoming place for the people of the sport to come and interact with the best fans on the internet. I take that responsibility very seriously, and I know the rest of the mods do as well because modmail is filled every day with multiple discussions on how to make sure we are keeping this place running as smoothly and as well as it possibly can.

Reddit has downvotes. People are going to downvote. There is absolutely nothing that can be done about it. It's nobody's fault, it's just some idiot on the internet clicking a meaningless button. It can't be changed, or fixed, or bitched out of existence.

Mods don't run the AMAs. We don't give rules to the people who gift us with AMAs. Sometimes, if we're lucky and ask very nicely, we can set up AMAs. Sometimes, like the past several days, teams/drivers/NASCAR representatives come to us and offer AMAs.

We have little to no control over how the AMA is run, because as far as we are concerned, whatever works for them, works for us...because we are happy to have them here. Because we want this community, this wonderful community, to have the opportunity to interact with the people involved in this sport that we love so much.

And then, after all that, after we spent all day monitoring the AMA to make sure it doesn't turn into a shitstorm, after a NASCAR freaking LEGEND comes and spends some of his precious, rare spare time to talk to us and share stories and pictures and awesome stuff with us, people turn around and bitch and complain and it's completely ridiculous.

We work hard, the NASCAR/team/driver reps work hard, to give AMAs to you. Do you think they get anything out of it? Do you think Jeff got a single thing out of this AMA? He, and Jessica, did this for us. For you.

Can't you just be happy and grateful for it? Can't you just enjoy what you've been given instead of expecting...no- thinking you are entitled for things to go exactly the way you want?

Seriously, you guys. I love you, I love this sub, but this constant moaning about downvotes and "imperfect" AMAs and not getting exactly what you want, when you want it, and how you want it is just. so. tiresome.
