I’m from America and when I went to the Philippines, most if not all Filipinos I saw were brown skinned, amazing, nice, hospitable people. How come then in the billboards, in the TV shows, in every aspect of Filipino media, it’s dominated by people who don’t look Filipino. It’s a constant cycle of self hatred being perpetuated onto the Filipino masses because businesses know that white skin sells. It’s disgusting and it does not represent what being Filipino is. Filipinos born here in America have more pride of being a true Filipino, free from the mental chains of Spanish and American colonialism. Embracing the true indigenous Malay roots of our people who are majority Brown Skinned.
