Trip to Hawaii in October 2015

[–]gmkab[S] 1 point 12 hours ago  Correct on BNA. I figured I would find a flight from BNA to the west coast separately and then use miles from there to OGG, but I guess it does make sense to find something from BNA to HNL and then hop over. I don't have any rewards cards or points yet but plan on applying for CSP, one of the AMEX cards, a BoA Alaskan, and a Citi. I'm confident I can hit the minimums in the first month with my regular spending on at least one of the cards and then MS the rest of them. I'm just a little worried about the timing. The only searches I really did were from SEA to OGG via Alaskan and British (British didn't show any flights at all). Hawaiian had pretty good rates, around $600 round trip per person. I also found some on United. Are the cards I listed decent for what I'm looking for? permalinksaveparentreportgive goldreply

I urge you to do a bit more research this week before applying for anything, though. The how-to get to HI threads in /r/churning are perfect placed to start. Skip the directs to OGG and get a few round-trip and one-way options lined up to the west coast or even direct to HNL with the major airlines. You'll see the points cost for each and will be able to make a more informed decision about the cards you need to pick up. Don't forget about companion pass options either. permalinksaveparentreportgive goldreply

Always call on British because the website will only show British flights but they can also book you on American Airlines.
