Trucking as a way to pay for college?

I did trucking after college, when I couldn't find a job. I JUST got out of the industry like a month or so ago, taking a pay cut to work at an office job.

I drove almost 2 years for the same company. I honestly didn't enjoy it, but that was mostly to due to the company. Bad equipment, low pay, the company playing games, I got to the point where I couldn't take anymore. The driving wasn't so bad. The company politics and bad equipment was enough to make me get out. I tried to shop around for another company but it seems like the same story with a lot of other places after talking to drivers.

I'd say go for it, but, try to get with a good company. Honestly there are a lot of bad ones out there. I still have my CDL as a backup plan if I ever can't find a job, but I really don't want to go back to truck driving. It will be an experince. You might love it, or you might hate it, you won't know unless you try it.

You won't be making as much as all these companies claim, especially your first year. There's a truck driver shortage for a reason. Good luck.
