My point was that Western Europe has a high concentration of what I would regard to be successful countries. Granted, this is biased by my metrics of success being access to affordable healthcare and education, social mobility, fairly accepting societal attitudes (e.g., not transphobic/homophobic), and consistently high indices of subjective happiness.

Africa, conversely, does in fact have a number of nations that would fit this okay, but many African nations don’t do so well on the above criteria. The concentration is relevant. So I don’t think it’s unfair to say your odds of throwing a dart at a map of Africa and and hitting such a country aren’t as good.

Your obvious implication is that I’m racist, but I can assure you, for whatever it’s worth, that the skin color or the people in question wasn’t a motivating factor.
