Trudeau talking to premiers, holding rare Monday caucus meeting as protests continue

Tanks in the streets and the army going door to door and enforcing curfews. Not the best moment in our history and why Trudeau pulling this for a protest is pretty stupid. He could remove the boarder blockades with invoking the War Measures act. But he want to be seen like his daddy.

This probably won't be the case this time. And the War Measures Act was repealed in 1988 and replaced with the Emergencies Act.

It's probably about assembling a massive force of police and wreckers to resolve the issue by incrementally shutting down movement of people in downtown to facilitate the movement of the vehicles. They need some tool in there to facilitate the removal of the protestors and the procurement of wrecker services. With the power of this act, the government can just order qualified individuals to drive the wrecker (I think) or charge them and probably seize the vehicle if necessary, something they can't normally do.

No matter what the conduct of the occupy protest in downtown Ottawa, the protesters have repeatedly ignored orders to disperse and move their vehicles and have employed the use of human shields in the form of women and children with the implied threat of violence against the residents of Ottawa and downtown infrastructure if they are forcibly removed from their occupation.

It's time for it to end I think.
