I still date and have fun in my late 30s. Dating apps have cheapened dating too much. Most women I go out with are dating 3+ other guys. I don't have time for that myself since I'd rather do other things with my life aside from constantly date. Due to being date 2 of 4 for the week there's not much motivation to plan nice dates. I used to like planning creative things back before dating became creating a giant roster and filtering people in and out, never really finding anyone. And since women are almost always seeing tons of people they are never putting in much effort with any one person so things eventually fizzle out.

So I haven't given up. But it is not a priority in life and it's not worth putting as much effort into it as it was 20 years ago.
