True shit

Lol that entire comment is just the Texas Sharpshooter Fallacy.

Despite that, I agree that pit bulls and other select breeds should be regulated. I don't say that off on empirically unverified generalizations like "they are genetically prone to violence". My reason is that the breed has been niched to criminals and criminal activity and also has the potential to cause much more damage than smaller breeds. It's ridiculous any fucknut can walk down to a pound with 50 bucks and pick up full grown pit bull, a breed that is known to be more difficult to train and top pick among dog fighters.

Though I feel the similar with all dog breeds. I believe there should be a scientifically based system for what dogs need to have a good quality of life.

You shouldn't be able to get a fucking snow dog, like a husky, in Las Vegas; trap Border Collie in a 300 sqft apartment; or leave a golden(any breed for that matter) alone 18+ hours a day- without showing regular proof of the outstanding measures you (will) go to compensate for the un-met requirement.

Same would cover large and neglect/abuse/violent prone breeds like pit bulls. Can't adopt one until you show adequate training knowledge/training timeline and clean criminal record. If you have record or live in a area with considerably heightened animal abuse/dog fighting statistics you would need a parole officer, psychiatrist, city health inspector, whatever pertinent professional to sign off.

Though with this plan the restrictions would require a very sharp increase in euthanisations, but personally I think having the massive national increase of pet life quality would be

I know that will piss off those who see pets as only property, but that is an antiquated view. Might be a little philosophical for pet-ownership, but humans have entered a social contract with domesticated animals. They don't provide sustenance, but instead companionship and did so with the trust they would be cared for. Any sentient being that is owned also comes with burden of their care. Short of euthanising every domesticated animal, it will always be a moral obligation rooted in the very basis of civilization to take responsibility for the lives of pets and do the best we can by them.

This that it is still a right(without pro
