Trump admin. to reverse ban on elephant trophies from Africa

I've spent a few weeks subbed to r/conservative and it's baffling to try and understand their worldview. I can understand the limited gov't, libertarian style, or the faux moralistic "traditional" Christian heavy stuff, but I don't get the cruel nationalistic style that has taken hold.

They were celebrating the fact that a few thousand refugees were getting deported. These weren't Syrian refugees. They were refugees that were living in the US for decades, had families here, were integral in communities etc. It was all the same thing, it didn't matter if they had overstayed their refugee visa or had a more sound legal status as green card holders or continuous refugees. They were cheering the deportation.

It's the same kind of mindset that gets annoyed with immigrants not assimilating enough, but they don't realize that they are basically saying: "All you dirty rotten immigrants who come here better fucking drop your shit foreigner culture and get Murican right quick, but don't you dare take even one job here that a native should have." Gee, I wonder why they don't feel welcome and don't integrate as well
