Funny that you mention that. Trans women have bone density that's comparable to (if not a bit lower than) cis women, even before they start HRT (study 1, study 2).

I'm not saying that this resolves the issue (it really doesn't, bone density is more of a red herring), but anybody who brings up bone density as an argument pretty clearly has never looked at the underlying science.

Second, we're talking in large parts about school sports here. A significant percentage of trans girls these days will have never experienced the relevant changes of male puberty because of puberty suppression and thus will get female-typical changes to their bodies instead. The blanket ban that Idaho wants can therefore not be defended; it is overly broad even if you accept the rest of their arguments.

That was actually a point that the judge in the case had brought up and that Idaho could not provide a response to.
