Trump administration says children of US troops born overseas do not have automatic citizenship

Your source is no better.

"It appears to target children of service members who are legal permanent residents and not U.S. citizens, but could also affect citizens if they can't prove they lived in the U.S. for a certain amount of time. "

So it could also affect US citizens. So regardless of citizenship status, if someone wants to question you, they can disregard your documentation. Same thing is happening at the border. They profile by appearance, not citizenship. Horrible policy.

Now I'm not saying we should have open borders and just let anyone in. We should have everyone go through the process of applying for citizenship, asylum, etc. But this specific policy only makes it harder for US citizens living abroad. They will now have to incur the expense of the plan ticket and (males) being away while their child is being born.
