Trump and Deadheads

I didn't vote for Hillary either. But at least Hillary wasn't endorsed by the KKK and the "national policy institute," who, at their recent conference in DC, questioned if jews were people. They did the nazi salute. They are white nationalists. Steve Bannon, who didn't want his kids going to school with jews, is Trump's right hand man. I dislike Hillary Clinton as much as anyone - no, really, my post history might give some insight as to my political views if you're really feeling interested - but fuck a dude whose core base is literal nazis. How the fuck are you gonna defend a guy whos main man hates jews? Whose movement is represented in DC by people who do the nazi salute?

The Dead may not have a political ideology, but the whole fucking point is inclusion. As a jewish person, I don't feel very included under Trump. Immigrants or Hispanics probably don't either. If you were at a dead show, you fine with some dude doing a nazi salute? You fine with some dude grabbing your wife or sister or mother by the genitals? You fine with someone screaming in an immigrant's face? I don't respect people who think those things are okay. Respect for political views is a virtue up to a point. That point, for me, is well before when they have a history of sexual assault and elevating the voices of people who literally do not think I am a person. By attempting to include them by some misguided virtue of total inclusion, you are in fact excluding those that are put in danger by their presence.

So, in summary, fuck that. Fuck blanket respect for everyone's political choices. Fuck it all the way to the moon. Fuck it even at a dead show.
