Trump gives FEMA power to restrict trade of essential goods into Canada despite warning from Trudeau

Ok bud let me start with ww1, yep you got us, we only got involved in a war when American lives are at risk in the same way we only got involved in international trade of medicine when it was putting American lives at risk, its almost as if our government doesn't want to risk American lives unless it we absolutely need to.

WW2, we mobilized 12 million soldiers, we had a citizen population of 40 million to those 12 million so nearly a third of our population at the time. A little quote from a articke "the U.S. supplied the Soviet Union with 400,000 heavy trucks, 2,000 locomotives, 11,000 railcars, and billions of dollars worth of planes, tanks, food, clothing, and strategic resources. By 1943–44, the U.S. also supplied about 20 percent of Britain’s munitions." Wow 20 percent of europes leading powers munitions, a whole fifth of Great Britains stock houses were given by the US and what did Canada contribute? 1.2 million men (may they rest in peace for their valient service) so we contributed FFAAAAAARRRRR more than you guys lol. We landed 73,000 troops, you guys beat us by 10,000 and keep in mind that was YOUR COMBINED FORCE, so we contributed far more troops then either country if you wanto to split those 2 apart, speaking of which you bring up deaths? Are you trying to measure how effective a millitary is by how many bodies they pile up? Our troops had training, good training to, every think we lost the least amount of troops because we were better equipped because we spend more on our millitary than the next several countries COMBINED mind you.

Keep in mind the lend-lease act, also if you think i have "patriotic biased", youll be happy to know churchill, yes, that churchill, thought the allies didn't stand a chance without the United States, lets have a look at the last part of his speech after Dunkirk

"Even though large tracts of Europe and many old and famous States have fallen or may fall into the grip of the Gestapo and all the odious apparatus of Nazi rule, we shall not flag or fail. We shall go on to the end. We shall fight in France, we shall fight on the seas and oceans, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our island, whatever the cost may be. We shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender, and if, which I do not for a moment believe, this island or a large part of it were subjugated and starving, then our Empire beyond the seas, armed and guarded by the British Fleet, would carry on the struggle, until, in God's good time, the New World, with all its power and might, steps forth to the rescue and the liberation of the old."

Take a look at the words New World and Rescue, the New World is VERY frequently referred to as the United States, and when he learned the US was going to get involved he said that night he "slept the sleep of the saved" so it seems funny you try tp undermine our entire contribution to the war. Lets say the Allies DID WIN, do you really think Stalin wasn't going after western Europe? He betrayed the allies after the end of the war and made the USSR, you know who he feared war with? The US and her people, he would have conquered western Europe the same he did the east.

Back to WW1 since you seem so inclined to bash BOTH wars and try to trivialize the sacrifice made by Americans, we fought a war that cost 166,000 American lives.... we didn't even gain much from the war, we even refused to sign the treaty the European nations dreamed up that blamed the war on Germany (when it wasn't even Germanys fault) and unfairly proscuted them and oppressed them and it was this treaty that guess what? Later led to a rise in German nationalism that Hitler rised to power on which caused WW2.

We lost 166,000 lives in a war that didn't even give us anything in the long term and our government refused to sign a treaty that was unfair to the enemy. But according to you, but yeah, guess we are just a country looking to be the next empire...

You know what really bugs me though, historians almost universally agree the United States won the Pacific War for the allies, in fact we contributed the most men AND lost the most men.

It disgusts me more people like you make something like this political, I'm ignoring the obviously racist comment you made at the end directed at ALL AMERICANS and will simply say this, take your head out of your own fucking ass and realize how bad our country is right now, we have people dying in the hundreds daily! We are barely keeping our economy afloat to! Every testing kit, every batch of medicine we give to you guys is putting American lives at risk, don't you see how unreasonable it is your asking another nations government to sacarfice their peoples lives to save people in another nation, could you honestly say Canada wouldn't do the same? We are all in this together and this shouldn't even be about politics, yet people like you seem to enjoy trivializing loss of life for political gain.
