Trump legal team seeking precedent to avoid Mueller interview: report

I mean, again, i said it was not just about Trump but could be an attempt by Russia to exert influence over a number of politicians.

Details on the top 10 beneficiaries of NRA cash in 2016: Donald Trump — $31,194,646 Sen. Richard Burr (R-N.C.) — $6,297,551 Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) — $3,298,405 Sen. Roy Blunt (R-Mo.) — $3,105,294 Sen. Todd Young (R-Ind.) — $2,888,132 Former Rep. Joe Heck (R-Nev.) — $2,529,305 Sen. Rob Portman (R-Ohio)— $2,319,755 Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.)—$650,745 Rep. Lloyd Smucker (R-Pa.)—$215,786 Sen. Richard Shelby (R-Ala.)—$167,411

NRA overall GOP campaign expenditures over the past 3 cycles (lobbying/PACs and direct contributions): 2012: $24 million 2014: $31 million 2016: $58 million

The numbers above are inclusive of all GOP candidates, but the NRA themselves admitted to committing nearly triple to Trump as they did to Romney. Additionally, they did not need to report any money they spent on online advertising or get-out-the vote efforts, so it could be much more.

Never mind the fact that in 2015 both the former and future presidents of the NRA (David Keene and Pete Brownell) led a delegation to Moscow to meet with Alexander Torshin, a Kremlin banker who is known for money laundering, and Dmitry Rogozin, a Russian Deputy PM. I mean, it could be a coincidence, but that's probably what the FBI is trying to determine. Especially since, as you noted, nothing happens in Russia without Putin's approval. Oh, and it's illegal.
