Trump says good relations with Japan 'will end when I tell them how much they have to pay:' WSJ

I love this insight. And completely can agree, it's ridiculous that we aren't controlling the dialogue with a voice that can represent everyone, instead of the co nstant bickering.

The point you made about these poor bastards being misled is absolutely agreeable, how they were mostly an afterthought for the Democrat platform in 2016. We set ourselves up to fail by putting these people into a corner instead if accepting them.

The average business owner is voting republican for obvious reasons of course. But the voters that won these elections aren't going away, unless they die or choose to not vote. So either we can accept the message of economic recovery in the rust belt and what not, or basically prove to them that they are truely left behind.

I'm not sure who to blame but in the end it is even my own fault for not trying to bring these people together in the first place. The answers are there, the people, skills and energy all exist. Within each other and ourselves, at least to a degree.
