Trump says he discussed forming cyber security unit with Putin

I didn't listen to Comey's hearing. I did, however, read the Intelligence Community Assessment which states that there is a strong likelihood that Russia, or at least entities sponsored by the Russian state made a great effort to interfere in the election. I'm not sure that hacking is the right term. Clearly Russian state-backed media were propagating anti-Democrat stories and pushed a line that Trump's foreign policy (such as it was) was looked upon sympathetically by the Kremlin. I find it hard to believe that what RT or Sputnik had any effect on the American voting public. If there was any 'hacking', it was Russian non-state actors launching phishing attacks against the DNC which ultimately led to the release of emails which could be spun negatively against Clinton. This was absolutely pivotal in the result. We'll probably never know, but claims that Russia directly subverted the voting process somehow (voting machines etc.) seem somewhat implausible. Whatever the case, Putin got his guy into the White House and made America grate again, very grating indeed...
