Trump’s ignorant son-in-law is running the coronavirus response. That’s unacceptable.

They're difficult to compare, since the Great Depression was almost entirely an economic crisis, instead of our current combination of public health crisis and the added economic standstill. It's like 1918 and the 1930s blended together into an awful train wreck. There's no reliable data to quote or cite because something of this scale and extent has never happened before. There was never a time period in history where large portions of the entire world's economy were forced to a standstill, during a pandemic which is highly transmissible and has now been carried to even the most remote corners of the world via air travel, crippling healthcare systems.

To be honest I don't even want to know the final numbers, it's hard enough to come to terms with all of this as it is.
