I work at a huge nonprofit medical organization, and they cut all the consultants' and people in administration's salaries and furloughed a whole bunch of people in outpatient and non-patient-facing settings, but didn't make any changes to the hours or pay of those working in inpatient settings (except for consultants), which I think is decent.
I volunteered for the furlough, because my summer semester in my master's program is going to be brutal, and suddenly having 40 hours a week freed up while collecting unemployment was pretty fucking appealing. Plus they're continuing all our benefits and waiving health insurance premiums during the furlough period, so fuck yeah.
