What NASA should be saying is studying the climate ≠ global warming.

Its just like studying anything else. Studying climate helps save on your property insurance. You wouldn't want your buildings flooded by a hurricane would you? What about all the people in Tornado alley that voted for you? Should NASA stop studying climate so we have no chance of stopping the tornado's someday very soon? The Chinese could be experimenting with weather changing weapons and we would never know it because we have no detectors!

NASA needs to get some uneducated people who have a secret passion for science together in a focus group to quickly learn how to communicate in a very unscientific way. Care should be taken to avoid any lies or destructive behavior but I see nothing wrong with temporary re titling a few programs and some wink wink behavior that serve to preserve and weather the storm.

Do you stand crying and yelling about the loss of knowledge while the Library of Alexandra burns or do you convince the Romans the words are meaningless and its a gold mine of antique paper they should be protecting?
