Walls of highlighted bold text don't automatically fall afoul of the automodbot. Maybe they should, and it would help make threads more readable and make some people's posting habits less obnoxious, but afaik there's no actual filter in place to stop people from just making their text all bold

If you wonder why, its because this sub has word filters that automatically hide posts with certain inflammatory phrases. For example, "Bern1e Bros" and "Dep1orables", spelled properly. That's the simple reason. People fall afoul of it all the time, its common to see 10-25% of all comments hidden because the filters are so aggressive, that's just two from a very long list

There are actually 7+ comments by different people in this thread who got hit by the word filter. You guys should be aware of this, because one of those phrases is right in the title so I'm sure its being repeated in comments.

I read it. Bernie supporters are toxic white males just like Trump supporters - that's the gist of the article. Nevermind Bernie leads all candidates with Latino voters and is second among Black voters (and first among Black millennial). To the author, any sign of passionate support for a candidate is a flashing warning sign and a potential mark of low character. Any criticism from the left is both personal and meanspirited - and a small slice of twitter (believable, twitter brings out the worst in people) users who are legitimately toxic are a fair representation of the entire Sander's coalition.

I would be inclined to take the author more seriously if the also wrote an article about one disturbing similarity between Trump and Biden - how they are both heavily reliant on finance and big business to fund their campaigns. As it is I just read it as another bad faith attack article.
