Truth

I don’t know much about technology or science but I do know leather goods.

I remember a while ago seeing someone post that they found a Louis Vuitton bag and someone else replied something along the lines of “All LV products have a serial number in them, take it to your nearest store and they can contact the owner” it was highly upvoted. Followed by a bunch of responses saying “This”, “OP this is the correct answer”, “my friend did this and it worked” etc.

Louis Vuitton products don’t have serial numbers in them, with the exception of ultra rare or one off pieces the stores have absolutely no way of telling who bought that item. It baffles me that someone can confidently say something so wrong and then 100s of people upvote it. Even a basic google would tell you it’s wrong.

Makes me wonder how many times other top voted comments on topics I know nothing about have been completely wrong too.
