truth or dare

The day I truly knew the girl I've always loved since the day I laid eyes on her. It was at the very beginning of last April. My birthday, actually. School trip to NYC with my AP Art History class. One of the last days we were there. The class was visiting the MoMA. Now, I'm kind of an art nerd, so is she. Luckily for me, I got to sit right next to the most gorgeous girl I'd ever met, in class, and even luckier, I got "randomly" placed into the same group as her. The teacher is a friend of mine, and took pity on my and placed me with her and some friends. Anyway, we got to explore the museum on our own for the most part for a few hours. Her and I being friends already, she grabbed my by the hand and off we went. We spent the entire day exploring the museum looking at beautiful art and talking the day away. As we waited for the rest of the class to trickle back to the entrance of the building so we could all go back to the hotel, she and I sat outside in the rain on a bench just talking and enjoying each others company. I told her how I'd been feeling about her, and she just pecked my on the cheek and said she was sorry, but she had a boyfriend. They love each other and just recently celebrated their 3rd year anniversary. That crushes me every day, but that day will live on in my memory as the best day of my life.
