The truth hurts sometimes

I owned a parking lot within walking distance of the beach. I frequently rented the entire lot to business for the day. A group of climate change awareness people booked a weekend. They had someone throw paint on them and they went an purchased cleaning materials and did an amazing job removing it in 30 minutes. They cleaned up the lot and left without additional incident.

A church not far away contacted me about Sunday rentals for parking.

In less than 3 weeks, they had so many problems the police department required security.

The local business owners then slowly began to explain WHY they did not want that group present.

The details were always SPECIFIC. I was astounded at the high frequency of negative interactions.

It was clear exactly which streets they took as they walked. Problems with people parking on the street at the meters, bookstores selling books they did not like, clothing they did not approve of, the patrons at various restaurants and bars, the immigration assistance office etc.

The business owners collaborated with me and we made it a private lot with validation.

The problems stopped.
