The truth is… there are only about 5 groups to make it each year

BB Global 200 chart include digitals and streaming from 200 territories worldwide. Especially even Apple Music Korea, YouTube Korea is also included. Some of the groups like aespa, BTS, BP, ITZY, Twice etc are dominating in at least these platform in Korea + added with their international charting Spotify, apple etc will make it here. Girl groups also have much better longevity in Spotify chart history. As far as I know, no 4th gen bgs doing that hot in Korea, most usually does well in Spotify and only SKZ and maybe NCT units have higher streams on YouTube. Even these top bgs YouTube audio streams are low compared to the top ggs which BB global 200 chart uses as well. Still, the point is boy groups have much bigger and core fanbase buying albums while girl group have rather much casual audience consuming music in online planforms/digitals.

Even looking at BB global 200 chart. Only BTS, BP and Twice have somewhat a consistent charting with higher longevity. And, all the groups charting beside these 3. There are more boy groups actually beginning to chart compared to girl groups.
