Tryamkin has signed with Avtomobilist

It seems like he was somewhat interested in the NHL so long as everything went the way he wanted it to, which is obviously pretty telling. However, the Canucks may have misplayed their hand by signing a deal that said 'no AHL' and then trying to get him to go to the AHL. I wouldn't be impressed by that, particularly if they said 'it's because you're out of shape' and I didn't think I was out of shape. You can imagine how that would look to you if that was your first experience with a new team in some foreign country (that you were perhaps 50/50 on playing for in the first place). And of course, I wouldn't be surprised if this is a more complex family issue, or that maybe he's just thinking that he's young and has tons of time to come back to the NHL if he wants to, later on when the Canucks aren't awful. He's 22, why not just live the easy life in Russia and see how things pan out. If I'm his agent and I know he's unhappy, I'd tell him to just do whatever he feels like and see where things are in a year. It's annoying as a Canucks fan, but I can think of several reasons why someone might do what he did.
