Trying to find an un-biased opinion on the new Top Gear.

It wasn't a disaster but it could've been much better. I hope they'll hit a rhythm and really make it their own in time but they need to improve quickly.

The Good * The camerawork and cinematography are still excellent, far above any other car programme imho. * The new rally-cross track is a welcome change from the fairly tired traditional track. * Matt LeBlanc & Sabine Schmitz seemed to do well, though we didn't see much of Sabine & Matt needs to drop the American in England act, which will get old fast.

The Bad * Chris Evans needs to stop trying to make it TFI-Friday. * Chris Evans needs to calm the fuck down and stop shouting. * Chris Evans needs to stop impersonating Clarkson. * The show needs to let go of the past. The takeaway guys seemed to be there solely for the 'catering' joke and the "we've got custody of the stig" and the refusing to end on 'a bombshell' were just cringey. * The laser car chase film has been done before, there was nothing new other than the drivers. Also, pretty dull choice of cars. * The UK-US challenge was poorly thought out and a pale imitation of previous series challenges and, imho, really should how well they've been planned in previous series. * Why were they going to Blackpool? What was the goal? * Why Robins? * Why hadn't they bought & customised them themselves? (sometimes a significant part of past challenges) * Who thought the tug of war would work? (2 vehicles with similar power, on sand were never going to pull each other backwards) * Why didn't they just have both Brownlee brothers from the beginning of the last challenge? Adding him later added nothing and was confusing? * Did none of the production team think to check to see if it was possible to pull the Robin to the top of the Fell? It didn't seem possible for either team. * While the rally cross is good, they didn't show much of it. Considering it's a new feature they could've spent a few minutes showing the full track, how it was made and have The Stig set a time so the celebrities had something to aim for. Was Gordon Ramsay's time good? Probably, but we won't know until a lot more times have been set. * The interview was terrible. Practically no actual questions for the guests, just a silly top trumps style game about their cars, with one guest having only owned 1 car and who seemingly didn't care about them. Makes you wonder why he was booked in the first place.

The Ugly * Chris Evans needs to stop dying his hair. It just looks weird.
