An update on the net-metering thing. Spoke with an Authorized Tesla Installer today.
They have gotten three recent price increases and then a fourth. The fourth increase was larger than the first three combined.
Two power walls installed with two gateways (I have two 220 panels and four inverters) would be $42,250 installed.
To upgrade the electrical panels to SPAN panels - eliminating the need for the critical load panel would be $14,400 installed.
So basically two power walls with all the bells and whistles would run me $56,650.
I have already maxed out any possible improvements to lower usage (the house was built recently, heat pump hot water heater, geothermal). . . . .
Not sure what to do honestly. I will probably go through the winter and see how my bills are impacted before I pull the trigger TBH.
I might change my Tesla charging to daytime only and just swap cars daily with my wife so one is always home during the day charging while I use up the battery on the other one, she doesn't drive much.
