[TSN1200] Dorion when asked if there are any backup plans if Batherson or Formenton are suspended due to Hockey Canada: "The Hockey Canada investigation continues so we will defer any questions about that for now."

I agree to an extent, obviously this is a much larger question/problem than something to be discussed on r/hockey so I'll try not to go too deep into the weeds.

I really just think it's dangerous to let things slide and get out of control in the public sphere, something I personally think happens basically anytime the media get ahold of a scandal/story like this one and puts it in their crosshairs. Often, getting the public wrapped up in something becomes completely hopeless when there is any story with legitimate nuance to it as people end up comparing to other situations that aren't as similar, or simplifying it for easier consumption (amongst a lot of other things that make public relations difficult and muddy for either side trying to tell their story, especially though the media)

I don't think this is a popular side to take, (especially in a topic like this, on this sub) but I end up fearing a lot for the people who wrongly get their life ruined by things like this (Manti Te'o doc isn't a perfect example of this, but pretty close).

I know your point is more in the lane of thinking that the court of public opinion is free game and the real courts is where it matters what "rules" are followed, but I think that's just a difference between us, and I'm ok with your way of thinking being the way the world works towards because it probably is overall for the best (I just don't love it wholeheartedly)
