[Tudor] Brought some color into the collection, the Heritage Chrono

For me, watches are a way of commemorating significant life events or successes. So on the verge of closing out a good 5 year stint with my current employer to take on new challenges elsewhere, I stop by my local watch store to have a bit of a browse and a chat.

I eye up the Sales Associate, Martin, who has always been humble, knowledgeable and extremely patient with me on the many occasions I've wasted his time in the past. We go through a wide selection of watches, but my eyes ultimately keeps getting drawn back to the Tudor Heritage Chrono.

It's a fun and quirky watch, comprising a mishmash of odd shapes, bold colours and random watch parts. It's perhaps a little hard to take seriously, but somehow it just works. The irony is not lost on me as I reflect upon the workplace I'm about to leave - as a smaller player in a much larger field, we aren't exactly the most polished or professional in the industry. But the sum of our wide and divergent backgrounds allows us to compete on a more quirky and intimate level, all while having a heap of fun in the meantime.

I love the summery feel of this watch, and it looks amazing on the included fabric strap. The applied indices (with lume!) are a nice touch, as are the screw down pushers for the chrono. The 60 click bezel has a nice sold feel to it, whilst the tastefully done date aperture sits discretely at the 6 o clock position. If I had one minor complaint it would be that the case is just a fraction too thick, but that's a minor quibble in the grand scheme of things.

I think the Tudor Heritage Chrono is a fantastic watch for the money, treading that fine balance between old and new very well. With an almost Frankenstein characteristic, it's certainly not a watch for everyone. But it is perfect for me, a truly great way to celebrate the last 5 years of my work life.

Thanks for looking everyone!
