Tuesday NFL Discussion Thread

I just want to give a shout out to Andy and Donovan. These past few years really confirmed to me how great they were despite not sealing the deal (here). They made it to the game before the Super Bowl, these huge playoff runs for four straight years. Then got us back within four years after loosing a super bowl. They had problems, they were humans, but Andy is one of the greatest coaches ever to pick up the clipboard, Donovan did what he needed for his team to win. Say what you want about him putting it in the ground but he didn’t give it to the other team. When he left here with us he had the record for INT% he was the first QB to throw over 30TDs with less than 10 INTs. And he did this with a pretty terrible WR core.

We just see how hard it is to stay consistent, even when you seem to have things set up in your favor. (I guess 04 really should have talked about that). Still they have me a lot those years. Really everything, in Andy’s case literally everything. Donovan played on broken ankle in a come back victory, for us and his team. I still have the things in my head like Donovan running around the back field for 12 second on the cowboys and still completing a huge pass to Freddy Mitchell on the move.

The dude was huge, apparently could bench 400 lbs, I just remember seeing him literally rip LB off him with one arm. Sometimes he looked like Superman pulling the world out there. 4 & 26 made me a man.

They might not have won it all, but I getting to watch them play will always be a genuine treasure I have. Andy, Donovan and Westbrook, really helped set our standard, you don’t have to win, but you gotta leave everything you have on the field.
